Our Coaches
NCSC Coaches are experienced in coaching and training swimmers at all levels.
To ensure our coaches can focus on running training sessions, we request parents do not interrupt coaches while they are coaching on pool deck or preparing for squad sessions.
If you would like to arrange a time to discuss your child’s swimming, please use the Contact Form and our Lead Coach will be in touch shortly.
LEAD COACH
Treena Skeggs-Grant
Treena has been a swimming coach for over 30 years, assisting athletes to reach state and national competitions in Western Australia, Queensland, Singapore and Thailand.
Treena calls herself a 'hard, but fair' coach! "I am technique driven and will forgo mileage for quality skills when required. My goal is to have the athletes under my care not only develop into better swimmers, but to understand the intricacies of the sport they have chosen. For me as a coach, one of my greatest satisfactions is taking the 'rough diamond' and, with some polish, seeing them reach heights and accomplish goals they had not thought possible."
DEVELOPMENT COACH
Claire Evans
Claire Evans specialises in both technical pool and open water swimming. She has coached many swimmers achieve their goals of completing solo or team crossings of local open water events such as the Rottnest Island Channel swim, the Port to Pub as well as many national and international events. Claire is a great asset to our team!
DEVELOPMENT COACH
Rachel King
Rachel has been a swimming coach and teacher for over 12 years, working with all ages, from babies to adults. Previously teaching at renowned Carlile Swimming in NSW and coached at various pools in Queensland, including the Townsville Tourist Amateur Swimming Club.
As a self-professed "technique-first" coach, her emphasis is on the importance of skill mastery over mere mileage. "I prioritise refining technique, even if it means cutting back on distance. My goal is for each swimmer to not only improve in the water but also to develop a deep understanding and love for the sport. There's nothing more rewarding than watching an athlete surpass their expectations and achieve their goals."

Her experience as a former member of NCSC during high school has shaped her understanding of the sport and the importance of teamwork and perseverance. Her goal is to inspire swimmers of all levels to grow both in and out of the pool.
Technical Officials
Technical Officials enforce the technical rules at a swimming competition and include the Judge of Stroke, Inspector of Turns, Check Starter and Clerk of Course. Each Swimming WA affiliated club must have at least one Technical Official, as per the SWA guidelines.
We believe NCSC swimming members should be striving to swim in accordance with swimming regulations. Having ‘guest’ Technical Officials at our Club meets and certain training sessions (when possible) provides timely feedback to swimmers and coaches leading up to inter-club meets.
If you are a Technical Official and are interested in being involved at Club meets, please use the Contact Form with your expression of interest.
